We run an animal shelter in the Volyn region of Ukraine, caring for 75 dogs and 80 cats. If you'd like to see our life not as a guest, but as someone who helps the animals every day, we invite you to spend one or more days with us.
You'll stay in our trailer — the same way we live ourselves. This is not a hotel or a holiday resort. There are no specially arranged comforts and no entertainment program. Everything is exactly as it is in our daily life. In summer the trailer can get very hot, in winter it's cool. We don't decorate anything or create a "pretty picture," because our goal is to show the real life of people who care for dozens of rescued animals every day.
You'll see not only the touching moments, but also how much work, time, and effort stands behind every rescued animal. It's a chance to live, at least for a few days, the way we live, to understand our rhythm and feel how a shelter really works.
Perhaps after these few days you'll look differently at the work of people who rescue animals every day.
Please understand honestly:
- This is not a hotel or a resort.
- This is not relaxation or a vacation in nature.
- There is no entertainment program or special comfort.
- You will have to work. A lot, and physically.
- You wake up early, with us, and work throughout the day.
If you're looking for rest, this isn't for you. But if you want to understand from the inside what daily work for animals really means, this is the place.
Also important to know:
This is responsible work with living animals. Puppies may jump and accidentally scratch your hands, and cats can be sharp with their claws too. This is a normal part of the work, but you should be prepared for it.
Most importantly — you must not be afraid of animals. Sometimes people come to us who get startled by every move a dog makes. Working with that kind of fear won't work, and it won't be comfortable for you or the animals. So if you feel calm around dogs and cats, ready to touch them, pet them, walk them, and care for them, you'll feel at home here.
You'll live by our schedule. You'll wake up when we wake up, eat with us, and take part in all the daily tasks. If we need to get up early — we'll wake you.
During the day you'll help with what we do every day:
- feeding the dogs and cats;
- walking the dogs;
- cleaning the territory and enclosures;
- caring for the animals;
- everyday household tasks;
- whatever else comes up during the day.
75 euros per day
Donation for the stay — 75 euros per day. This includes accommodation in the trailer and shared meals with us. We eat when the work allows, so your meals will follow our rhythm too.
All funds from this program go toward the care, treatment, and daily needs of our shelter animals.
House rules
- Treat the animals and the shelter's property with care.
- No smoking inside the trailer or near the animals; alcohol and illegal substances are not allowed.
- Follow the team's instructions on safety and handling the animals.
- Keep the trailer and the grounds clean, tidy up after yourself.
- The trailer has a toilet — you'll need to clean it yourself. There's also an outdoor toilet on the grounds and a toilet in the house, so use those too to clean the trailer's one less often.
- Don't let animals out or feed them without checking with the team.
- Always close enclosures, doors and gates so animals can't escape.
- Report any injury, conflict or problem to the team right away.
These are the basic rules — we'll agree on the details before your arrival. A liability waiver is signed before the stay.
Waiver
Before your stay, please read and sign the waiver — it covers liability for risks, rules of conduct and accommodation, and safety. You can sign on-site or print it in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need experience working with animals?
No. We'll teach you everything on site. The main thing is not to be afraid of dogs and cats and to be ready for physical work.
What if I'm afraid of animals?
Then this program isn't for you. There's constant contact with dogs and cats here. If you're scared of animals, it won't be comfortable for you or for them.
Can the animals scratch or bite?
Puppies may jump and accidentally scratch, and cats can be sharp with their claws. This is a normal part of working with animals. There are no serious risks, but you should be prepared.
What's included in the donation?
Accommodation in the trailer and shared meals with us. We eat when the work allows, so you'll be on our schedule.
What are the living conditions?
The trailer is simple and cozy, but it's not a hotel. It gets hot in summer and cool in winter. We show life as it really is.
What time do I need to get up?
Early, together with us. The exact time depends on the day and the animals. If needed, we'll wake you.
Can I come with a child?
Yes, you can. Please note: children stay in the trailer together with you, and full responsibility for the child rests entirely with the parents. Keep in mind that this involves work with animals and physical labor, so consider whether your child will be comfortable with this routine.
How many days can I stay?
From one day. The exact length we'll agree on after your request. For guests traveling from abroad, we recommend several days or a week.
